What to Expect

Prepare for your child’s first tutoring session.

Let’s Get Started!

Colorful craft supplies including scissors, markers, and colored pencils are organized in containers on a shelf.

1. Book a Free Consultation

All prospective Little Learners will book a Free Consultation. This virtual meet-and-greet gives us a chance to discuss your goals for tutoring and chat about how I can best help your child. It’s also an opportunity to see if we’re a good fit moving forward!

2. Schedule Your First Session

Are we a great fit? Awesome! Go ahead and book an individual service or check out the session packages to get started. All sessions are offered online or in person (Beaverton, OR).

If your child is working with me for the first time, their first session will be an assessment.

3. Prepare for Your Session

Before the session, I’ll send you an email with a downloadable packet. Print the packet and bring it with you to your child’s session (if you scheduled an in-person appointment, I’ll provide you with the packet when we meet).

This is the folder your kiddo will have throughout their time as a Little Learner, so your child will need to have it with them during each session.

4. Attend Online or In Person

Woohoo! It’s time to learn! Because tutoring sessions are tailored to your child’s specific learning needs, lessons will look different for each Little Learner.

That said, your child’s tutoring session is all about them. I’ll move through lessons at your child’s pace and personalize sessions with some of your child’s favorite things—if your kiddo is crazy about dinosaurs, I’ll include dinos in the lesson plans!

5. Practice At Home

After your child’s session, be on the lookout for a follow-up email with the following:

  • A summary of what we worked on.

  • Recommendations of how many sessions I think your child needs and how often they should be scheduled.

  • Activities for your child to work on at home. These strengthen your child’s skills and help your kiddo get ready for their next session, so it’s important to spend time working on them!
